How We Can Help
- Observe and promptly report pain, anxiety, breathing changes, restlessness, or other symptoms to the hospice or clinical team.
- Administer prescribed medications when provided by an appropriately licensed nurse and authorized under the established plan of care.
- Provide comfort measures such as repositioning, adjusting pillows, assisting with personal care, and changing clothing or bed linens.
- Support oral comfort and hygiene using approved supplies and techniques included in the care plan.
- Assist with maintaining a calm, peaceful environment through soothing music, gentle touch, or preferred scents when appropriate and welcomed by the client.
- Explain observed changes and reinforce education provided by the hospice team while offering reassurance and emotional support to family members.
- Provide compassionate companionship by sitting at the bedside, listening, talking, reading, or holding the individual's hand.
